Poly is a chair designed by Karim Rashid for Bonaldo made of transparent polycarbonate or high gloss polyammide; it is also available covered in fabric, faux leather or leather. Poly chair is characterised by its diamond-cut backrest and seat, and by its rear legs tilted outwards to make the slim shape even slender.
Its modern and innovative design makes this chair perfect in a trendy living room or kitchen or, why not, creating a bold contrast in more traditional context.

This chair, designed by famous designer Rashid, is made with injection moulding technique which makes the material perfectly adhere to its mould. Three different prototypes have been made in order to obtain the highest performance in terms of seat comfort and perfect tilting of the backrest.
Poly has received "Best Design 2007" award, "Red Dot Award 2008" and "Good Design Award 2008".

Karim RashidKarim Rashid
Karim Rashid (Cairo, 1960) is an Industrial Designer with Egyptian and English origins; he is eccentric and creative. His horizons and customers are global, he himself is known as a cultural provoker. His work goes from furniture objects to fashion, lighting, art, music and installations. He studied in Canada where he took a degree in Industrial Design in 1982 and he then completed his studies in Italy with Ettore Sottsass. In 1993 he opened a design studio in New York City, where he still lives and works. Karim designed and produced more than 2000 products during his whole career, he also won several prizes such as the ID Magazine's Annual Design Review for four years in a row distinguishing himself in the design field. His works are part of the permanent collection of 14 museums, among which the MOMA in New York and San Francisco, and have been object of international publications. Karim has also been a professor in Industrial Design for 10 years and has written and still writes different design books.


Bonaldo was born in 1936 and since than it has been expressing its personality through furniture and projects which reinterprets modern domestic needs.

The collections of this well known company are characterized by always evolving modern lines: as a matter of fact one of Bonaldo's main goal is to experiment with new materials and new shape resulting in an international oriented firm constantly collaborating with famous Italian and foreign designers. The materials used are perfect for the needs of today's market, that is of flexible and innovative furniture, whose style and shapes are highly oriented towards the revisitation of a classic style.
This item, as all products from Bonaldo, is the result of a completely Italian production process which matches the love for design to high quality furniture pieces.

This company is at present a reference point for the Made in Italy in the whole world, collaborating with designers such as Karim Rashid and Alain Gilles. Bonaldo furniture items have been at the centre of many episodes of the tv show "Vendo Casa Disperatamente" airing on Real Time. The company takes part in the main national and international furniture and interior design fairs.
In 2010 Big Table table has been internationally acknowledge as Bonaldo iconic product. Between 2012 and 2013 Still and Welded tables won the "Good Design Award" and "Red Dot: Best of the Best".
