Interior Designer's Opinion

The Interior Designer's Opinion
Born from the collaboration between the Bouroullec and Magis brothers, Baguette focuses on an extreme reduction of materials and of assembling elements to become a light and minimal table. The top, always thin and with rounded corners matches perfectly to the slim structure for an overall light and industrial look. The most particular element is definitely the structure with its A shaped legs that creates an aesthetic dynamism and practicality of use: a minimum space taken by the volume of the legs themselves while dining.
Elegant and essential, Baguette table is ideal for the lunch break, for offices or for desk use.

Maintenance Tips
We suggest the use of a soft dry or humid cloth. Use eventually neutral mild detergents diluted in water or products specific for the cleaning of aluminium. We discourage the use of abrasive sponges because they could scratch the product. Dry immediately with a soft cloth or with a suede leather. Do not leave water or other liquid substances on the product. Please pay attention that such surfaces do not get in contact with acid or basic substances.
In particular for the top we recommend to avoid sudden temperature changes and not to overcome the temperature of use of 60°C.

Possible signs or irregularities on the surface of top in slate or american walnut are typical of the nature of the material and can't be considered defects.
For cleaning we suggest the use of specific products for stones.

For the wooden top we suggest not to expose it to sun rays, that could permanently darken the surface.

As the aluminium used in the production process of Baguette is natural and is not treated with chemical products or paintings, possible halos or irregularities that should occur on the glossy structure are naturally linked to production process and can't be considered defects. The aluminium has a tendency to become opaque.
A periodical maintenance keeps the original look and lengthens the durability of the product. Please avoid products different from those indicated and a non-correct use of the product.

The Venetian company was born in 1976 and in few years it astonished the market with original furniture pieces, up-to-date materials and innovative techniques.
1984 is the year of Step ladder. Initially it was completely ignored by the design field judged not worthy of a furniture store; in the following years this judgement turned out to be completely wrong since Magis sold a million copies of this ladder becoming one of their most acclaimed classic piece coming with a design which has been copied worldwide by top manufacturing companies.
The 90s welcomed new famous co-workers such as the designer Jasper Morrison, who created classic iconic products which appear now inside museums such as MoMa, New York. Lyra stools and Bombo, the extraordinary success of Stefano Giovannoni, were created during those years. From this moment on, the multiple Magis achievements brought them to display their own products in the most famous contemporary art museums: London, Hamburg, New York.
Since 2000, the year of Air-Chair designed by Morrison, Magis has been producing furniture items made of plastic or recyclable / recycling materials and using techniques such as gas injection or rotational moulding. In 2004 Me Too collection was born, a collection designed for children from 2 to 6 years. Many of these products won and still win several internation prizes such as Compasso d'Oro in 2011 for Steelwood Chair, a project by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec.
