Project Room 141025
Customer request
We have purchased a newly built villa near Bergamo and would like to rely on your consulting and planning service for the living area. We would like a complete project to furnish the open space of almost 54 sqm with a kitchen and living room together. The room is mezzanine, the sleeping area on the upper floor overlooks this large open space, and together they enjoy the light coming in through a large window that occupies one wall of the living area. We would like the furnishings to enhance the architectural structure of the loft: we prefer minimal furniture with clean, linear lines, an airy look, light and bright colours harmonised by some warmer tones. Reading one of your blog articles, we have identified a colour palette we like very much, in shades of Sand / Vanilla / Cream.
Interior Designer's comments
The clients purchased our 3D render consulting service to preview photorealistic images of the project and get a clear idea of the final rendering of their new open plan space.
The furniture design phase was preceded by an accurate study of the property's state of affairs. Planimetry in hand, the large space to be furnished turned out to be a rectangular room of 53,36 square metres defined by walls of 9,20 and 5,80 metres. There are two openings on one wall: a glass door that connects this large room with the entrance to the house, and another glass door that allows access to the open space from the hallway area. One wall features a 5,50-metre long sliding French door that overlooks the porch leading to the private garden with a swimming pool.
Having clarified the structural and technical aspects, we then moved on to study the needs and preferences of the customers, to create a design in which functionality and aesthetics were perfectly balanced. It emerged that the preferences for the kitchen centred on the presence of an island, the balance between closed compartments with doors and display cabinets, and an extendable table for possible guests. The living room area, on the other hand, needed a sofa for relaxing in front of the television and some additional comfortable seating.
The result of the project is a large corner kitchen composition with a working island and table with chairs combined with a living area with TV corner and bookcase.
In detail, the corner kitchen measures 3,92 x 5,80 metres, with an island cm 240 p.100 h.92. The composition features a built-in refrigerator and freezer column on the left and continues with a column with recessed doors that conceal a large area equipped with a concealed stainless steel worktop, upper shelves and lower baskets. This module is equipped with various sockets and illuminated with internal LED lights. This is followed by a storage column with built-in oven and microwave and, towards the corner, a pantry column with pull-out shelves. The other side of the kitchen composition features storage columns and showcase columns interspersed with a central area with a long additional worktop, storage base units, wall units with doors and display cabinet wall units; all highlighted by strips of LED lights.
The great protagonist of the environment is the island on the top of which there is an induction hob with up/down hood flush with the top and a single-bowl sink. The base of the island includes an operating side with drawers for cutlery and various utensils, baskets for pots and pans, and compartments for rubbish bins. The opposite side has been used as a snack area with stools for breakfast or a quick meal. The kitchen area is then completed with an extendable table and comfortable chairs/armchairs.
Having designed the configuration of the kitchen area, we moved on to define the materials and colours. The homeowners' desire, shared by the interior designers, was to focus on light, bright colours and precious, luxurious materials to increase the value and aesthetic impact of the living area. Sand matte lacquer was chosen as the main colour for the kitchen; Nickel lacquer was chosen for the plinth, groove handles and back of the display cabinets; Fumè transparent glass was chosen for the glass doors; Calacatta Gold laminam gress was chosen for the island, top and back panel of the open area.
The extensible table with a barrel-shaped top echoes the colours of the kitchen composition: the top is in Calacatta matte ceramic glass, the structure is Champagne painted metal. A touch of bright and warm colour is given by the armchairs in Apricot shade orange fabric.
Having completed the design of the kitchen area, we moved on to the definition of the furniture and accessories for the living room area. To contrast with the large kitchen wall composition, it was decided to maintain a minimalist style, without loading the space or weighing down the room. The wall was furnished with a TV set hanging on the wall, a long suspended chest of drawers and a composition of vertical wall lamps creating atmospheric lighting. Opposite the TV wall is the relaxation area proper with a linear 3-seater sofa and two upholstered armchairs. The set is completed by a small storage table with a shelf for magazines and remote controls. Framing the area is an elegant rectangular rug in shades of beige. Serving the upholstered area, between the two access doors to the open space, there is a custom-built modular bookcase that perfectly occupies the available space and satisfies the customers' tastes. The bookcase offers shelves for books and knick-knacks, a decorative open compartment and two showcases for displaying precious objects.
As it is an open-plan environment, it was essential to find the perfect colour match between kitchen and living room. The palette chosen for the relaxation area also features light, soft colours, in detail: a sofa in white Loto fabric with a grey frame and feet, small armchairs in light grey fabric with darker grey feet, a suspended chest of drawers and bookcase in light Hemp Oak wood with transparent Smoked glass doors, and black vertical lamps.
The furniture chosen for this large open space reflects the design concept of a luxurious villa with a contemporary design. Custom-designed, modern furniture collection with minimal lines available in a wide range of colours to choose from. Thanks to the advice of experienced interior designers and the choice of furniture from the same collection, everything in the project coexists harmoniously.
