Bedroom Project Design No. 2954

Client Request
Me and my husband would like to furnish a 14 square metres double bedroom. We need two wardrobes (one will be used for coats and as a shoe rack), a make-up dressing table with mirror, a small armchair and a bed (we already have one but it takes too much space for the room we have available so we are thinking about changing it with a more compact one in length). I like modern style with few neutral colours and I would like to apply a wallpaper (which I've already chosen) on some walls. For the bed and armchair I prefer fabric or genuine leather as upholstery cover. The floor is made of wood and we only have a single French window in the room, in white pvc with direct access to the balcony.

The interior designer's comment
The entrance area of the bedroom has been furnished to work as a coat-room. We placed in front of the door a linear wardrobe with sliding doors, this opening allows to conveniently use the furniture piece when it's near a passageway, like in this case. The lack of open doors allows both the passage and the easy access to what's stored inside, furthermore it is also possible to furnish the space in front of it with other accessories.
And that is why we added a pouf and a full-height mirror, very practical close to a wardrobe.
A second wardrobe has been designed to fit the recess wall on the left side of the entrance. In this case the internal equipment is composed of coat hangers and shoe racks and it has been thought to be used for coats and shoes, following the original request.

Out goal was to use as much space as possible to offer different storage solutions while keeping in mind the client requests and leaving some space for the dressing table.
This has been placed on the wall next to the bed. It is a minimalist and sleek L-shaped element equipped with a pull-out drawer and matched with a wall mirror. To complete the make up area we added an armchair with a refined design and a spoke base in lacquered finish. The seat is upholstered in leather.

As far as the bed is concerned we've chosen a king size model with storage box and without headboard. This solution allows to reduce the encumbrance in depth of the bed and gain a couple of cm that will allow a better passage on the bed feet. To replace the classic headboard it is possible to choose an independent wall panelling with a thickness of only 4 cm; this gives the possibility to create a fully customised layout by matching different panels in different sizes and finishes. When the space is limited, the combination of a headboardless bed and a wall panelling is perfect to obtain a beautiful solution which turns out to be absolutely functional too.
We opted for a wall panelling that combines upholstered elements (placed right behind the bed) and lacquered elements (placed behind the bedside tables).

The night area is completed with two bedside tables, one with round top and one rectangular, and two lamps, a table lamp and a floor lamp which can be also used in the make up area when needed.
