Description

Giano by Cattelan is an oval marble table with a modern look, characterised by a conical base in embossed metal formed by two coupled shaped blocks.
The top can be chosen in matt white Carrara marble with a matching base, for an elegant and refined look, or in graphite or black metal to create a beautiful light/dark contrast. Other marble finishes are taken from Keramik stone: a new-generation material that is extremely resistant and water-repellent and perfect for everyday use of the table. Finally, Giano is also available with a top in Canaletto walnut or burnt oak wood and is the ideal solution especially in rooms that need a touch of warmth. The range of finishes is completed by CrystalArt glass, distinguished by an elegant and sophisticated decorative print in two colour versions, and brushed clay, laid on an MDF top and in three colours.
The table can be enhanced with a swivel centrepiece tray in glass, Keramik or marble.

Material Specifications
Marble: an elegant material, characterised by open veins that can sometimes have resin-based fillings that even out the top in the event of slight surface roughness, while guaranteeing greater structural resistance. Being natural stone with an age that sometimes exceeds one million years, the top cannot be defined as 'perfect': each slab is different from the other with more or less marked veins, depending on the cutting and polishing processes. It may present natural micro imperfections, a characteristic feature of marble and not attributable to defects. Marble tops are naturally porous: any protective polyester treatment hides this porosity to the touch, leaving all the natural features of the slab visible.

Keramik Stone: Keramik stone tops are made of a special stone-effect ceramic that picks up on the natural shades of stone. The underside of the top is made of transparent bevelled glass, which turns black after the bonding process.
When cleaning the top, it is recommended not to use steam machines or abrasive products. We recommend the use of mild liquid detergents, which should be removed with a wet sponge. In the case of stains or marks, it is recommended to rub the top with a solution of bicarbonate and water, which should be left to act for a few minutes and then wiped off with a wet sponge. As it is a porous natural material, it is important to remove the dirt immediately to prevent substances from penetrating the top.

Clay: this is a natural, thin coating, applied manually by spatula in several layers and left to dry naturally. The process is completed with a final protective layer in order to preserve the surface and the natural opacity of the material. The production process is based on the mixing of soils: this allows natural colours and finishes to be obtained. The presence of imperfections is to be considered as a distinctive element of the hand-worked material.

CrystalArt: this is an extra-clear tempered and bevelled crystal, enriched by a graphic printed on the underside of the glass during the tempering process. The design is always the same, but the effect changes depending on the size of the top.

Extra-clear crystal: this is treated in such a way as to significantly limit this 'blue-green' effect typical of all glass and not affect or change the colour of the CrystalArt decoration.

Bevelling: this is a process carried out on mirrors, glass and crystal in order to refine them and round off the edges; through this process a perimeter band is created with a width varying from 10 to 40 mm and with an angle of less than the standard 90° (generally 7°). This is a very delicate and precious process that is carried out on highly valuable mirrors and tops.

In 2011 Cattelan assimilate ARKETIPO, a renown company from Florence famous all over the world for the production of design upholstered items.

The company is today present in more than 150 countries worldwide. Cattelan Italia attends every year to national and international furniture fairs, such as Milan's International Furniture Fair, Cologne IMM Expo, the Maison et Objet in Paris.
