The dyed beech finish is made with a pass-through varnish that leaves the wood grain visible; the colour is desaturated compared to the matt lacquer, which instead has a solid colour. The colour reference is indicative, as the varnish may take on different shades depending on how it is absorbed by the underlying wood grain and may therefore be fuller or more veiled.
