Create your own custom-made walk-in closet

Where to start..

Creating your own custom-made walk-in closet is very simple but requires some time and a few pieces of relevant information: primarily, it is fundamental that you know how much space you have to work with. It is also helpful if you know what you need from your closet and, if possible, what your budget will be. Step by step we will show you how to choose each element of your walk-in closet, which you can choose from the five models that we have on our portal: Byron, Joyce Pacific, Pacific, Tilt and Player.

Size and Budget

We want to demonstrate the process of purchasing six different walk-in closets with three different budgets, all made for the same space: a wall which is 310cm in length and with a standard height of 270cm.
Don’t forget that it is also important to know how much depth is available to you, especially if the wall in question meets another wall with windows or doors.
Once the measurements have been established and we know how much space is available for the closet, we can decide on three budgets: the lowest one will be €1,500, the second between €1,500 and €2000, and the third will be over €2000.

Shape and Style

Byron is a walk-in closet made up of rods which are attached either to the ceiling or to the walls. This design makes it highly adaptable to any space, including attics. The different elements can be made to measure with no additional cost, but the base price is higher than that of our other walk-in closets.

Joyce Pacific is the “neatest” of the six models, with full-height panels fixed to the wall by means of invisible racks. You can add drawers and shelves which can be moved around at a later time, making this a very flexible option. In comparison to some other models, the cost of this walk-in closet is slightly higher.

Pacific is a walk-in closet with some variations on the “closet without doors” concept. The side panels and internal partitions can be substituted with elegant metal frames. This model also offers the option to add glass doors on some of the compartments, or to include a chest of drawers or a full-height shoe rack.

Tilt is a free-standing closet with no doors. It is made up of modular elements equipped with side, bottom and top panels, which give this closet a compact and orderly look. Both simple and minimal, Tilt is one of our more economic choices.

Player is a closet which, like Tilt, looks like a wardrobe without doors. Each element is equipped with side, bottom and top panels and a moveable shelf with two clothes rails. This is the most aesthetically simple option, as well as the most economic.

WHAT DO I DO ONCE I ACCESS THE DIOTTI.COM WEBSITE?

When you open the diotti.com website, simply move your cursor over the 'Wardrobes' menu option and click on 'Walk-In Closets' to go directly to the models presented above.
Starting with the basic information which comes with each closet (assembly type, measurements, finishes) you can choose the model which best fits your tastes and needs, and click into its product page.
When you open the product page, we suggest that you look through all the information available. In the description, you will find all of the technical information you need, while the gallery will show you photographs and diagrams of the many possible layouts available.
In order not to lose sight of your initial objective, that is the “bones” of the closet, it is important to concentrate initially on the structure, and only after that to take a look at the Internal Accessories page. On this page you will find accessories to complete your closet, such as drawer units, shirt racks and floor benches.

Byron Walk-In Closet

The Byron walk-in closet is created by adding single modules to the basket, each of which is composed of a rod and shelves, before finishing off the composition with a final rod.
Byron offers 58cm or 85cm elements which can be reduced to measure by the centimetre, with no additional price. The rods can also be made to measure, up to a maximum height of 3 metres.
Byron will allow us to create a walk-in closet for our 310cm wall, e.g. with the elements measuring 85 + 85+ 58 + 3 for the final side: the 58cm element only has to be reduced by 7cm to achieve a total width of 309cm (with 0.5cm left on either side to allow for assembly).

Starting from the left, the elements are as follows:
- an 85cm element with two shelves and a 3-drawer unit on wheels
- double 85cm element with three shelves
- a 58cm element with five shelves

All of these elements, including the drawer unit, can be purchased from the Byron product page: in just a few clicks we can add them to the basket and see the reduced price of €2449.04.

Joyce Pacific Walk-In Closet

The Joyce Pacific walk-in closet is made up of full-height panels equipped with shelves and clothes rails. Joyce Pacific offers elements in 5 widths and 4 heights: H. 223,6 - H. 239,6 - H. 255,6 - H. 287,6.
By choosing the Joyce Pacific H.255.6, we can create a composition using cm 57,8 + 57,8 + 57,8 + 97,8 elements. A few centimetres must be added to the width on either side to allow for the compulsory infill uprights on either side of the composition. Therefore, we will have a closet measuring 280.9cm.

Starting from the left, the elements are as follows:
- double 57.8cm element with two shelves and two clothes rails
- a 57.8cm element with six shelves
- a 97.8cm element with one shelf
- a 4-drawer unit resting on a floor bench, available from the Internal Equipment product page.

The reduced price for this splendid, accessorised walk-in wardrobe is €2010.08.

Pacific Walk-In Closet

The process of designing a Pacific walk-in closet is also very simple:

1. First we chose the “without doors” model;
2. For the “Walk-In Closet Width”, we selected 302.5cm, which is composed of 97.5 + 97.5 + 97.5 elements;
3. We then chose 255.6cm for the height and 59.5cm for the depth;
4. Lastly, we chose the melamine finish.

Here the price varies depending on the amount of internal partitions we choose. In our case, we have chosen “full” side panels for the outside, and metal frames for the internal partitions.

At this point, we can add the drawer unit from the Accessories for Walk-In Closets product page; we choose 97.5cm for the width, and then select the 4-drawer chest of drawers with smooth front in melamine, and we add it to the basket.

This free-standing walk-in closet, set up in this way, costs only €1787.33, with a saving of €476.99 from the original price.

Player Walk-In Closet

On the product page for the Player walk-in closet, you can create an entire structure in just a few simple steps:

1. From the drop-down menu entitled “Closet Width”, we chose 295.6cm, made up of 95.2 + 95.2 + 95.2 cm elements;
2. We then chose 255.1cm for the height;
3. We selected the Melamine finish;
4. And then we added the structure to our basket.

We then moved to the Internal Equipment page and clicked on Player Internal Equipment; we chose a 95.2cm element, selected a chest of drawers with 4 drawers, chose the finish and then added this to our basket.
In two simple steps, we created a walk-in closet with three elements (just like a wardrobe with 6 doors), with shelves, clothes rails and a chest of drawers.

This free-standing, walk-in closet has a reduced price of just €1245.14, saving you €533.62 from the original price.

Tilt Walk-In Closet

On the Tilt walk-in closet product page you can create an entire closet for two people, in just a matter of minutes:

1. From the “Walk-In Closet Width” list, we chose the 303cm option (117 + 57 + 117);
2. We then chose a height of 259.6cm;
3. We selected the Laminate finish;
4. And we added the structure to our basket.

We can then move to the Internal Accessories for Walk-In Closets page and click on Tilt; we have chosen the “internal chest of drawers” from the first drop-down menu, and then selected the “for a 117cm element” option. We then add the 4-drawer chest of drawers to our basket.
In just a few steps, we created a walk-in closet for two people, composed of three different elements equipped with shelves, clothes rails and a set of drawers.

This closet costs just €1285.29; saving you €419.05 from the original price.

PLEASE NOTE

The prices indicated in this guide are based on prices at the time of publication, so they are subject to change. The estimated prices do not refer to the walk-in closets seen in the images, but rather to the closets which have been portrayed in the diagrams and described in the text: the measurements and selected equipment have been listed for every model, and in each case the selected finish is melamine.
