Description

The designer round glass table Maxim by Cattelan is a complement with a high level of artisanal value: it is made by hand and using a special cold-molding technique, which minimizes environmental impact and responds to the growing demand for more sustainable design. Maxim's features make it comparable to a sculpture, with its refined base composed of three petal-shaped elements, covered in spatula-applied clay, and its extraordinary texture.
The top can be made of clear or extra-clear glass with beveled edges, allowing the base to be fully appreciated, or you can have an MDF top, also made of troweled clay, for uniform tones. In the glass version, the top rests on stainless steel plates: these are not the traditional round shape, but are shaped like petals.

Clay: It is a natural, low-thickness coating, applied manually with a spatula in multiple layers and left to dry naturally. The process is completed with a final protective layer to preserve the surface and the natural opacity of the material. The production process begins with the blending of earths, which allows for natural colours and finishes. Imperfections are considered a distinctive feature of handcrafted materials.
Maintenance: It is recommended to protect the surface from falling blunt objects and avoid direct contact with flames or very hot objects. For daily cleaning, use a soft cloth dampened with water and a mild, neutral, multipurpose detergent. Dry the surface with a soft cloth or paper towel. Remove any food, liquid, or grease residue within a few hours to avoid permanent stains.
Extra-Clear Glass: Clear glass tends toward the classic "blue-green" colour of all glass, while extra-clear glass is treated to significantly limit this "blue-green" effect and not affect or change any other colour of objects visible through the tabletop; for example, a rug, chairs, or the tabletop itself.
Bevelling: This is a process performed on mirrors, glass, and crystal to refine them and smooth their edges. This process creates a perimeter band with a width varying from 10 to 40 mm and an angle less than the standard 90° (typically 7°). This is a very delicate and valuable process that is performed on highly valuable mirrors and tabletops.

This item is the result of the great creative energy of Cattelan Italia, a company from Veneto region, founded in 1979. The initial manufacturing focused on small marble furniture accessories and tables designed for the foreign market. In the 80s the interest of the national market for these refined products increases, encouraging the company to widen its offer of dining tables, chairs, bookcases and accessories for sitting and living rooms.

The house is the symbol of the things most dear to you – Giorgio Cattelan loves to say – a world were you are surrounded by items comforting in both shape and essence. Because for me what is beautiful has to be functional too”. For more than thirty years this brand furnishes both modern and classic houses, while constantly widening the offered items. In 2011 Cattelan assimilate ARKETIPO, a renown company from Florence famous all over the world for the production of design upholstered items.

The company is today present in more than 150 countries worldwide. Cattelan Italia attends every year to national and international furniture fairs, such as Milan's International Furniture Fair, Cologne IMM Expo, the Maison et Objet in Paris.

Their headquarters is developed on 33.000 square metres, a breeding ground of creative minds collaborating with renowned architects and designers.
